The Havana Metropolitanos beat the Baltimore Kings, 9-3, at Estadio Latinoamericano. The win was due in part to shortstop Chris Kouri, who went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Havana pitcher Buddy Verveer earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Bryan Walker suffered the loss. The Metropolitanos bumped their record to 22-11 with this win.
Kouri contributed in the bottom of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Havana get the win.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Kouri.
