Ray Farr knocked in 4 runs to help Boston beat Montreal, 9-2. The East Brainerd, Tennessee native tallied 1 single and 1 home run. Adrian Portuondo picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-0 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 1 in 5 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The loss drops Montreal to 0-3.
With Boston leading 4-2 in the top of the fourth, Farr hit a fastball from Arthur Gordon for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Greens ahead, 7-2.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Farr told the Boston Chronicle.
