In a low-scoring game between the Portland Dragons and the Phoenix Thunderbirds, pitcher Yandri Vido was the difference-maker. The Portland right-hander was tough as nails in the 3-0 Dragons win. Charlie Petipas sewed up the save, his 12th. The Dragons saw their win-loss record go to 16-17. At the same time, the Thunderbirds fell to 10-24.

Vido earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Portland. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 8. Phoenix hitters had little success against him.

"Yandri was really on it," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter. "He's got a feel for playing with the hitter front-to-back, side-to-side."
