Cooper, Cyclones Beat Destroyers, 5-4
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Karl Cooper, the Miami Cyclones defeated the San Diego Destroyers, 5-4. Cooper was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Cyclones. Seung-woo Kim locked down his 2nd save. With the win, the Cyclones improved to 15-19.
With Miami trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Cooper hit a fastball from B.J. Terriquez for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 3-2.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Cooper.
