Cincinnati wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Jose Uresti, falling to the Philadelphia Spectres, 4-3. Uresti threw 7.2 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. The winner was Steve Jennifer in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Avery Slade took the loss. With the win, Philadelphia climbs to 17-15.

Philadelphia got a knockout punch from Dave Palacios. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Palacios said in his postgame press conference.
