Senators Score Late to Upend Kings, 5-2
|
The Baltimore Kings could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Kunimatsu Myaji into a win. Instead, the Washington Senators prevailed, 5-2. Myaji threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Xiong Loh snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Armando Angel suffered the loss. Washington is now 3-1.
Steve Hemphill provided a timely hit. The Washington shortstop delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Senators on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"It's still just a game," said Hemphill, "whether you win or lose."
