A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Houston Aquas and Boston Greens.
Behind the hitting of Edgar Albuja, the Houston Aquas stopped the Boston Greens, 8-1. Albuja slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Aquas. Axel Mendiola picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 7 in 8 innings.
Shane Ausmus went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Houston. The 30-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Adrian Portuondo. It was his 34th hit of the season.
"They took it to us," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
Houston raised its record to 19-15 with the win.
