Cyclones Roll to 8-1 Win Over Glaciers
|
The Miami Cyclones went home winners at Kroger Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Jeremy Fitch. Fitch stifled the Denver Glaciers, enabling Miami to grab the 8-1 win. Fitch got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Glaciers, now 12-20 this season, have struggled to play .500 ball.
Lan-quing Rao, who is tied for 5th in the EC in triples with 2, chipped in a 2-run home run for Miami in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We didn't put our best foot forward tonight," said losing manager Todd Bleess.
