Cyclones Need Extra Frames to Get Past Phantoms
|
The Miami Cyclones picked up a win at Kroger Stadium, knocking off the Chicago Phantoms, 4-3, in 12 innings. On the mound for Miami was left-hander Billy Lorsung. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Chris Sposato claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Miami goes to 15-16.
The Cyclones got a clutch hit from third baseman Omar Monge. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to left-center, to win the game for the Cyclones.
"This game tested our mettle," said Monge.
