Rangers Stymie Baltimore, Take 8-1 Win
|
The Buffalo Rangers thumped the Baltimore Kings, 8-1, at Bison Stadium. Rafael Vasco was a big reason his team got the win. Vasco went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mike Blain earned the win to go to 4-1. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work. The loss drops Baltimore to 17-15.
Cole Hickey helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Rangers.
"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Brad Carpenter.
