Great Effort by Lobster DH Testaverde Not Enough in 7-5 Loss
The Washington Senators besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Maine designated hitter Jacob Testaverde by beating the Lobster, 7-5, at Ballpark of Portland. Testaverde went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Zenjiro Koga picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-2. Vito Pels was tagged with the loss. With the win, Washington improves its record to 15-16.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Joe Amaya? The Washington designated hitter had a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Senators on top, 3-2. For the game, Amaya had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"They had a good approach," Maine skipper Matthew McExpos said of the opposition. "Hats off to them."
