Phantoms Score Late, Top Cyclones, 6-4
|
The Chicago Phantoms had to overcome a fine effort from Miami pitcher Ed Rice to win, 6-4, at Kroger Stadium. Rice went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The Cyclones drop to 14-15 and continue their mediocre start to the 2084 season.
Jose Buezo came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Buezo.
