Greens Clip Aces, 7-6
|
The Boston Greens picked up a win at Arrington Park, dropping the Las Vegas Aces, 7-6. Su-shun Nie, who finished 2nd in the EC in ERA with 2.69 last year, was the difference-maker. Nestor Duque earned the save for Boston, his 2nd of the year. The loss makes Las Vegas 17-13.
Boston right fielder Steve Stout contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 18th hit of the season and put the Greens ahead, 7-2.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
