10-8 Win Gets Cincinnati to 16-13
|
The Cincinnati Twins defeated the Buffalo Rangers, 10-8. Catcher Eloy Laca deserved a large share of the credit. Laca went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks for the Twins. Reliever David Prentice picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Carlos Palafox took the loss. The loss drops Buffalo to 19-11.
Cincinnati used a clutch at-bat from Alex Sierra to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Twins ahead, 8-6. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Sierra.
