Metropolitanos Edge Past Titans, 2-1

The Metropolitanos grabbed a win, 2-1, at Estadio Latinoamericano, overcoming a fine effort from New York pitcher Keiyo Nagao. Nagao went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Havana reliever Andino D'Elia picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Keiyo Nagao was saddled with the loss. Josh Trejo sewed up the save, his 9th.
Pete Delzeit, who finished 2nd in the WC in on-base percentage with .397 in 2076, took New York hurler Keiyo Nagao deep in the bottom of the eighth. His solo home run put the Metropolitanos on top, 2-1. In all, Delzeit had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
In postgame remarks, Delzeit applauded his team's "toughness."
Early on, the Metropolitanos, at 21-9, have excelled.
