Avispas Get 6-5 Win Versus Yellowknife
|
The Santiago Avispas weathered an outstanding game by Yellowknife designated hitter Felix Perez to topple the Ravens, 6-5. Perez was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Phillip Dalley snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-0 on the season. J.D. Haynes suffered the loss. With the loss, Yellowknife is 16-14.
Had Daichi Sakai not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Sakai hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Avispas.
"I like our mindset right now," said Santiago manager Jacob Pauly.
