Harfangs Thrash Cyclones, 12-1

Montreal shortstop Bert James was instrumental in helping the Harfangs triumph, 12-1, over the Miami Cyclones. James was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 5 runs. Dan Tweedy, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 1-3. Miami, at 14-14, are off to an ugly start.
Montreal first baseman Mike Davidson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 16th hit of the season and put the Harfangs ahead, 2-1.
"Every manager loves to see an offensive outburst from his team," said Montreal skipper Brendan Henry.
