Stars Turn Back Toros, 5-3
|
The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Stars Ballpark, knocking off the Tucson Toros, 5-3. Starting pitcher Roberto Davila played a key role in the triumph. In 7.1 innings, Davila surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Jose Bustamante picked up the save for Los Angeles, his 2nd of the year.
Bonaventure Moser hit a 3-run home run off Feng Shuai in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Stars ahead, 4-3. In addition to the homer, Moser had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers. "It's usually not just one thing."
Tucson now is 12-16.
