Baltimore first baseman Guignard Vitagliano had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Vitagliano went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, even as Maine beat the Kings, 10-8. Ted Ayres claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 4-0. The second-place Lobster hiked their record to 54-53.

Roberto Fondin hit a 3-run home run off Alex Villalobos in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Lobster ahead, 10-8. In addition to the homer, Fondin had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"Nice win for us," said Fondin. "Now we'll go after the next one."
