The Phoenix Thunderbirds topped the Minneapolis Vikings, 5-1, in Western Conference action at Legednary Park. The standout performance belonged to Phoenix pitcher and North Bethesda, Maryland, native Henry Escobedo. Phoenix goes to 9-20.

With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Andres Romo put Phoenix in front, 4-1, with a 2-run single. The Thunderbirds went on to win the ballgame.

"We'll build on this win," said Romo.
