The Cincinnati Twins downed the Baltimore Kings, 3-1, at AT&T Park. The Twins were led by Luis Zatarain. Zatarain went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Jose Uresti, the winner, improved to 5-0. He held the Kings to 1 run on 5 hits over 7.2 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Avery Slade, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
With Cincinnati leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Zatarain hit a cutter from Rocco Porcaro for a solo home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-1.
"Every loss hurts," said Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter. "But this was a tough one."
Cincinnati now has a record of 15-12.
