Portland Scrapes Out 6-4 Win
Denver got a decent performance from pitcher Raul Garibaldi, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Dragons. Portland won the Mountain Dew Park contest, 6-4. Garibaldi threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Portland reliever Oscar Mercado picked up the win. Raul Garibaldi, who leads the WC in innings pitched with 46.1, took the loss for Denver. Charlie Petipas closed the game out for Portland, earning his 9th save.

Hwui-ning Dan came through with a big-time hit for Portland. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Dan.

Despite the defeat, Denver still has a fine 19-8 record.
