Destroyers Rally Late to Clip Alaska
The San Diego Destroyers used the hitting of right fielder Edward Black to subdue the Alaska Kodiaks, 6-5. For the game, Black went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. San Diego reliever Victor Balaguer got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Jeff Amendola was tagged with the loss. The victory makes San Diego 11-16.

Matthew Allen was the walk-off hero for San Diego. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Destroyers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Destroyers manager Steve Alstadt. "This one was nice to get."
