Baltimore Earn 5-3 Victory at Polo Grounds II
|
The Baltimore Kings weathered a fine game by New York center fielder Gurmu Jemadari to upend the Titans, 5-3, at Polo Grounds II. Jemadari went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Rocco Porcaro, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held New York to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. Getting the save was Raudelin Proenza, his 2nd.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Robbie Klabunde? The Baltimore right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Kings on top, 1-0. For the game, Klabunde had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
