Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Alex Guilzar, the Denver Glaciers defeated the San Diego Destroyers, 12-8. Guilzar belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Glaciers. Mike Pechtel, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Adam Mimnaugh, who led the EC in saves with 42 in 2081, nailed down the save.

Chris Eighmy hit a 2-run home run off Gigi Cuzzocrea in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Glaciers ahead, 7-6. In addition to the homer, Eighmy had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"If you were looking for a pitchers' duel," said Eighmy, "this wasn't it."

The Glaciers, at 18-7, have a record worth crowing about.
