Boosted by the 3-hit performance of Ginjiro Muranaka, who finished 3rd in the WC in wins above replacement with 7.1 in 2079, the Houston Aquas defeated the Las Vegas Aces, 7-2. Las Vegas is now 13-13.
Edgar Albuja had a big 2-run home run for the Aquas in the top of the fourth inning. With Houston leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a curveball from Pablo Alvarez, who is tied for 7th in the WC in innings pitched with 33.0, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Aquas on top, 3-0.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Muranaka.
