Win Goes to Avispas in Tight Contest
|
Santiago beat Boston in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Boston got a valiant performance from pitcher Kevin Adkins, but it wasn't enough to beat the Santiago Avispas. Santiago won the game, 6-4. Adkins threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The Greens, 11-13, continue their sluggish start to the 2086 campaign.
Santiago took a 6-4 lead on Yem Batista's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Batista hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Martin Zambello visibly frustrated.
Santiago manager Jacob Pauly commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
