Boston starter Adrian Portuondo kept the Montreal offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his fastball in leading the Greens to a 3-1 win. Raudel Hernandez nailed down the save. Boston sits at 11-13 in the early going.

Boston used the hitting of Sergio Folha to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Greens on top, 2-1. For the game, Folha had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Adrian pitched his heart out," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
