Though he had a stellar game, Clifton Ewing could not prevent his team, the Toronto Juggernauts, from losing, 4-3, to the Washington Senators. Ewing went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Julio Mendoza was called on to finish, recording his 7th save. The win takes Washington to 12-13.

Alex Tejeda, who finished 4th in the EC in triples with 7 last year, helped out the Washington cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 4 with a double.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Tejeda said.
