Philadelphia took on Havana in front of a lively crowd.
The Philadelphia Spectres downed the Havana Metropolitanos, 6-0, at Estadio Latinoamericano. Stellar pitching by Uno Urquidez had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who signed a 2-year contract worth $16,000,000 on 12/18/2083, handcuffed his opponent all game. Urquidez, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk.
Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Danny Ornelas to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Spectres ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Uno executed his pitches at a high level," said Philadelphia manager Ryan Huff.
The loss puts Havana at 1-2.
