Twins Foil Gaedels, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Cincinnati Twins got the win.
The Cincinnati Twins locked up a win at Cincinnati Grounds, knocking off the St. Louis Gaedels, 4-2. On the mound for Cincinnati was left-hander Ken Wellon. He played a major role in the triumph. The loss makes the Gaedels 9-14.
The Twins got a big at-bat from right fielder Remo Donelli. For the game, Donelli was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Cincinnati a 2-0 lead.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
