The Houston Aquas took San Francisco pitcher Kelvin Vaquera's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Staples Field. The final score had Houston getting past the Friars, 6-3. Vaquera went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. Victor Wix, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. The loss puts San Francisco at 11-13.

Had Shane Ausmus not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ausmus hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Aquas.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Ausmus.
