Vikings Clonk Thunderbirds, 3-1
|
The Minneapolis Vikings got a magnificent performance from pitcher Frank Macias, who muffled the Phoenix offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Vikings win at Minneapolis Grounds. Macias picked up the win for Minneapolis, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Zee-loo Kim collected save number 5.
Javy Trinidad, who finished 5th in the WC in triples with 8 in 2082, chipped in a 2-run home run for Minneapolis in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Watch and learn," said Trinidad. "This is what good pitching looks like."
The triumph makes Minneapolis 15-9, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2084.
