Casey Marko, who finished 4th in the WC in on-base percentage with .391 in 2080, led Havana to a win over Maine. The final score was 10-3. Marko scored 2 times, while going 3 for 4. The center fielder also was credited with 1 RBI. The win gives the Metropolitanos a record of 16-7.
The Lobster had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Metropolitanos going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Willie Flores came to the plate. Flores hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 slider from Maine hurler Aaron Kopta. It was Flores's 3rd home run of the year.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer.
