Lobster Come Up Short at Buffalo, 5-4
|
The Buffalo Rangers knocked off the Maine Lobster, 5-4, at Bison Stadium. Bobby Rojas was a big reason Buffalo won. The left fielder was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Earl Tessier earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-1. Ricardo Alas, who is a two-time All-Star, nailed down the save.
Melvin Meraz hit a 2-run double off Alex Esquibel in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Rangers in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Meraz had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"I still think this team can play even better," Rojas told the Buffalo Herald.
The Rangers, now 17-5, have been on a roll in the early going.
