Victory Over Aces Takes Minneapolis to 14-8
|
The Minneapolis Vikings got a marvelous performance from pitcher Josh Hawes. The right-hander kept the Las Vegas offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-2 Minneapolis victory at Minneapolis Grounds. Hawes yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-0. Angelo Zelada was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Mike Ramirez helped out the Minneapolis cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 2 with a hit by pitch.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.
The triumph makes Minneapolis 14-8, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2083.
