Los Angeles Edges Minneapolis, 2-1, Fonseca Ks 10
|
The Los Angeles Stars claimed a close win over the Minneapolis Vikings, due in large part to Juan Fonseca. The Los Angeles right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. The win was the 16th in 21 games this season for the Stars. It's a terrific start for a team that appears on course for a return trip to the playoffs.
Fonseca was in midseason form against the Vikings. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits and fanned 10 in his 7.1-inning effort.
"That's baseball," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
