Fidel Flores, who finished 2nd in the EC in saves with 28 in 2078, imposed his will on the Aces from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 Minneapolis triumph. In 6 innings, Flores surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Miguel Morales nailed down his 2nd save.
Leonilde Tigre, who finished 2nd in the WC in home runs with 43 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Minneapolis in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Justin Coroian.
The Aces drop to 11-11 and continue their mediocre start to the 2083 season.
