Lobster Go Down to Defeat, 6-2
|
The first-place Buffalo Rangers took on the Maine Lobster in front of a spirited crowd.
Buffalo turned a good effort from starter Pablo Alvarez into a win over the Maine Lobster at Bison Stadium. The Rangers won the game, 6-2. Alvarez, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs.
Buffalo catcher Merlin Garbie contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a knuckle curve to right-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Buffalo manager Alex Beckman.
Buffalo, at 16-5, is off to a blistering start.
