Friars Paste 9-0 Loss on Thunderbirds
The San Francisco Friars and starting pitcher George Roscoe stifled the Phoenix offense en route to a comfortable 9-0 win at Legednary Park. Roscoe got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. San Francisco sits at 9-12 in the early going.

Ruden Lopez had a big 3-run home run for the Friars in the top of the third inning. With San Francisco leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a slider from Jay Barrientos, who finished 3rd in the WC in ERA with 2.92 last year, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Friars on top, 6-0.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Lopez.
