Lund goes 4-for-5, Stars Move to 2-1
The Los Angeles Stars topped the San Diego Destroyers, 8-1, in Western Conference action at Seaward Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Los Angeles catcher Whip Lund. Los Angeles goes to 2-1.

With Los Angeles leading 2-1 in the top of the third, Lund hit a fastball from Jordan Oliva for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Stars ahead, 4-1.

Lund told a Los Angeles Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
