The Phoenix Thunderbirds satisfied the home crowd at Legednary Park, treating them to a season-opening win, 2-0, over the Los Angeles Stars. Starting Pitcher Julio Carpinteyro was the standout performer for Phoenix. In 6.1 innings, Carpinteyro surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed no runs.
