Rangers Cancel Titans, 5-2
|
The Buffalo Rangers knocked off the New York Titans, 5-2, in Eastern Conference action at Bison Stadium. Buffalo pitcher and Cumanayagua, Cuba, native Alcides Zaldivar had an outstanding performance. Zaldivar, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up no walks. Lupe Sandoval earned save number 3 this season.
Buffalo went in front, 4-1, on Bejo Ananas's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ananas hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New York pitcher Zounes Habyarimana visibly perturbed.
Zaldivar called the win "an overall solid one."
The Titans are now 8-12.
