Gaedels Lose to Rangers, 6-3
|
Allan Tinter had a strong outing for the Buffalo Rangers against the St. Louis Gaedels at Bison Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-3 win. The winner was Buffalo reliever Ricardo Alas, now 1-0. The loser was Andres Anguiano. Earl Tessier recorded his 1st save for Buffalo.
The Rangers got a big at-bat from catcher Merlin Garbie. For the game, Garbie went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Buffalo a 4-1 lead.
"I'm happy we won," said Tinter. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
The victory makes Buffalo 3-0.
