Los Angeles played host to Kansas City at Stars Ballpark.
The Los Angeles Stars got a stellar effort from pitcher Danny Serrano, helping Los Angeles score a win over the visiting Kansas City Athletics, 4-1. Serrano yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-2.
Los Angeles took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Whip Lund hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Stars.
"When Danny is in the zone, it's kind of like -- good luck," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers.
For the Athletics, the loss makes them 8-12.
