The Vancouver Wolves faced a tough opponent in Houston pitcher Yasuhiro Katayama, but still scratched out a win at Tesoro Stadium by a final score of 8-4 in 10 innings. Katayama went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner in relief was Yasniel Ramirez. He is now 1-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Vancouver, now 8-12, is off to a slow start.

Ken Draves came through with a big-time hit for Vancouver. The third baseman smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 8-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
