Meklau, Twins March to 9-2 Victory
Boosted by the 4-hit performance of Ari Meklau, who is tied for 8th in the EC in RBI with 15, the Cincinnati Twins defeated the Washington Senators, 9-2. The win belonged to Macario Mendoza in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Vinny Valdez took the loss for Washington. The Senators drop to 6-13, as their fitful start to the 2085 campaign continues.

With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Meklau hit a cutter from Vinny Valdez for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager Nate Strauman: "We need to play with more of an edge."
