Destroyers Deal Phantoms 3-1 Loss
In a low-scoring tilt between the San Diego Destroyers and the Chicago Phantoms, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tony Anaya was the difference-maker. The San Diego right-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win in 10 innings. San Diego reliever Justin Lea picked up the win to move to 1-0. Marc Diamond suffered the loss. The Phantoms, now 5-13, continue their poor start.

Maddox Lannigan delivered a big hit for San Diego. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Destroyers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Lannigan. "You've got to get results."
