Aquas Beaten, 4-1, by Las Vegas
|
The Las Vegas Aces went home winners at Tesoro Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Joshua Eyres. Eyres stifled the Houston Aquas, enabling Las Vegas to grab the 4-1 win. In 7 innings, Eyres surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Cruz Ponce, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
Las Vegas used a clutch at-bat from Allen Braun to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian. "It's usually not just one thing."
The overall performance of the 2086 Aquas has been rotten so far.
