Late Rally by Toros Locks Up 3-2 Win

The Kansas City Athletics could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Arturo Covarrubias into a win. Instead, the Tucson Toros prevailed, 3-2. Covarrubias threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Cody Sosnowski picked up the save for Tucson, his 6th of the year. The Athletics fall to 8-11 and continue their uneven start to the 2084 season.
Jose Pedroza, who finished 2nd in the WC in OPS with 1.031 in 2080, chipped in a 2-run home run for Tucson in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Toros manager Rick Barnes.
