Harfangs Lose to Avispas, 8-4
|
The Santiago Avispas topped the Montreal Harfangs, 8-4, with youngster Innis Walker playing a key role. Walker was 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI for the Avispas in the win. Jimmy Biair, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held Montreal to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The defending champion Avispas are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 6th win in 17 games.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the Estadio Guillermón Moncada crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Walker, "and then get after it again."
