Vikings Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Stars, 5-3
Led by Gentaro Arakawa, the Minneapolis Vikings defeated the Los Angeles Stars, 5-3. Arakawa went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Vikings. Minneapolis pitcher Zee-loo Kim earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Michael Daubner suffered the loss. Minneapolis, now 12-6, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Arakawa had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Michael Daubner, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Vikings a 5-3 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Arakawa.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Arakawa told the Minneapolis Citizen.
