Thunderbirds Pick Up 4-3 Win Over Minneapolis
|
Phoenix right-hander Earl Starr pitched his team to victory over the Minneapolis Vikings at Minneapolis Grounds. The final score was 4-3. Starr yielded 3 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-0. Minneapolis drops to 11-7.
Phoenix used the hitting of Mike Ramirez to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 3-2. For the game, Ramirez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Starr.
